Young Adult Outdoor Group Experience
WHERE: Kananaskis Alberta
WHEN: September 27 and October 6, 2019
WHO: A small group of up to 6 (per outing)
HOW MUCH: $280.00 (per person per trip)
GOAL: These outings are a wonderful opportunity to engage in a positive, healthy group experience. The ideal participant is a young adult, between the ages of 18-24 who has been less socially active, experiencing symptoms of depression or anxiety, and / or overly engaged in the use of technology. The primary goal is to practice prosocial behaviours while engaging physical activity and attempting to reach a desired outcome (the summit!). Fitness is not a limiting concern these outings offer a chance to challenge ourselves and work together to meet manageable groups goals.
Your Guides: Ben Gallivan is a Registered Psychologist, Recreation Therapist, Certified Addiction Cousellor and ACMG Day Hiking Guide, with more than 20 years’ experience leading therapeutic outdoor experiences.
Joining Ben will be Geoff Mill. Geoff is a Certified Canadian Counsellor, with more than 20 years’ experience providing therapy and outdoor adventure programming in Alberta, BC, and Alaska.
IMPORTANT DETAILS: Participants will need to arrange their own transportation on the day of the activity. Lunch and Snacks will be provided. Our menu is arranged by a Red Seal Chef. Prior to the outing, participants will be asked to attend a one hour introduction/ orientation meeting. No special equipment is required to participate, though we need to be prepared rain or shine. A rain blocker and sturdy runners will be plenty!
